It’s awesome time at Cosumnes River College

The extreme entrepreneurship tour stopped at beautiful Cosumnes River College (CRC), one of the four colleges in the Los Rios district.

The event opened up with Professor Markus Geissler, who was instrumental in helping organize the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour. He is the CRC SIFE faculty advisor. This event was special because the new name of the SIFE club was unveiled; SIFE will now be known as Enactus. Enactus comprises of students in Free Enterprise. This organization is dedicated to helping students create projects within their community with an emphasis in entrepreneurship.

Over 240 students were at the event, and were inspired by Duane Spires, CEO and founder of Extreme Youth Sports. Duane gave an awesome keynote on how to silence the little voice that tells you, you can’t do it, and gave us practical advice on how to push yourself and believe in your talents and abilities.

Sometimes we silence our dreams because of our fears and insecurities, the only people we’re hurting is ourselves. The only time we have is here, and the best time to start a business is now.

Thank you Cosumnes College for hosting us! Now to our next stop. Greenville California.

EET Returns to Merced, California!

Merced College and the California Center for International Trade Development welcomed back the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour with speakers Bert Gervais, Adam Lieb, Devin Lars, EJ Carrion, and Mike Pronovost. If you have ever seen any of these awesome entrepreneurs in action you already know that Merced College rocked the house! Bert Gervais moderated an event that really connected with attendees. He led a very impressive group through an Idea Creation Workshop and helped several students really define the essence of their own entrepreneurial ideas and gave them the means to take their first steps to success.

Adam Lieb, the founder and CEO of Duxter Inc, gave a great talk over the various gaming companies he first started forming at age 11! Adam really brought to life the value creation process and converting your passion into a successful business. Many college students dream of making a living through Xbox and Playstation games. Merced College and Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour speaker Adam Lieb proved that it was possible if you think like an entrepreneur!

The founder of Doing Everything Different “DED” clothing line, Devin Lars, knows what it takes to be a success. His story of hard work and overcoming adversity really connected with people at the event. Through his personal road to success Devin helped everyone understand that, while there may be obstacles in your way, hard work and a belief in your dream will bring you through them.

At the end of the day the panel of young entrepreneurs brought the house down! Through excellent audience questions they were able to pass on all kinds of advice and ideas on the business creation process. By the time the last question was answered it was obvious that many potential entrepreneurs could clearly see the direction they wanted to take and firmly believed that they can achieve everything they want to!

Enthusiasm and Ice Cream in Pajero Valley!

After traveling highway 1 along the coast of California, we came to Pajero Valley in Watsonville, CA. Our wonderful event hosts, Alex and Leslie welcomed us to Watsonville, the home of many of California’s greatest vineyards and wineries.

We were welcomed with open arms, along with our speakers, the Rosales sisters, Christe and Nancy. They had attended a nearby school in Watsonville, and we had the privilege of hearing their story on how they started their ice cream business. After the event, Rosales sisters shared ice cream with students and the EET Team was given a tour of Watsonville! We even got to try some excellent Sushi nearby Santa Cruz!

We were greeted with student questions, enthusiasm, and interest in starting their own businesses to add to Watsonville’s vibrant economy.

Thank you for having us Pajero Valley, we look forward to returning again soon!

Cuesta College: Future EET Headquarters?

On October 22nd we arrived in beautiful San Luis Obispo ready for the great weather, food, and running on the beach!

We enjoyed a great local restaurant and were told where the best places were to go for 4-wheel driving, relaxing, and nearby surfing. As we compiled a list of the amazing things this city had to offer, we contributed with entrepreneurship thanks to our speaker, Jason Jannati!

Jason shared with students how he got started and how taking the first step is generally the most difficult one. The EET Team had so much fun in Cuesta and we can’t wait to head back soon… that’s if we don’t move the Extreme Entrepreneurship headquarters down there first!!

BizStarts Milwaukee and the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour rock Milwaukee!

The Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour is excited to report another fantastic event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. BizStarts Milwaukee (http://www.bizstartsmilwaukee.com), an organization built to promote an entrepreneurial environment in the Milwaukee area, brought students from several universities to Alverno College for the Extreme event.

Emcee Bert Gervais kept the crowd involved for the entire event. His high energy and commitment to being the best bring the event to life. Bert led the event attendees through an Idea Creation workshop and helped all the future entrepreneurs in the room take their business from “good idea” to “business opportunity!” Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour speakers Ryan Everson and David Gardner also gave fantastic presentations. Ryan Everson delivered a great keynote, bringing event attendees on stage and creating an entire support network for a student, showing her and the audience that you do not have to go through the business creation process alone. David Gardner was as amazing as always. His presentation on overcoming personal challenges and negativity inspired students to face their challenges and push through them to achieve their dreams.

BizStarts Milwaukee, Alverno College, and the EET Team ready for an awesome day!

Kathryn Spranger and Eric Paulsen met the team for a tasty pre-event dinner and shared a lot of local Milwaukee knowledge. The Extreme Entrepreneurship Team would like to thank Kathryn, Eric, Dan Matre, the staff of Alverno College, and WE Energies for all their support!

Rocking the house at Santa Barbara City College

The Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour in California brought some ‘awesome sauce’ to the students at Santa Barbara City College (SBCC). SBCC is one of the most beautiful campuses we’ve seen, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and is just a few steps from the beach. We sometimes wonder how students find time to study when they’re just a few steps away from the beach!

We met some fantastic people, Melissa Moreno and Antwanette Ramirez from the Santa Barbara SBDC. The day before the event, we went wine tasting at Deep Sea Wine Tasting on Stearns Warf and had some excellent seafood on the pier.

The next day, students were excited; there were over 200 excited students who gathered at the Fe Bland Forum. Devin Lars, CEO and president of Doing Everything Different http://www.doingeverythingdifferent.com/ delivered a moving keynote, inspiring students that we can’t waste our time or our lives, and the best time to live your dreams is now.
