More about Lisa

Biggest obstacle overcome...

Having the confidence to do what I wanted to do on my own terms instead of following traditional paths. My second biggest would be learning how to effectively scale projects and companies in order to free some of my time and energy.

Biggest vice...

Staying up late. Chewing gum when I'm stressed.

Biggest advice for others...

Develop yourself as a person. I think many entrepreneurs underestimate how necessary it is to be in a perpetual state of personal development and growth. I believe that a company or organization can only be as big as its leadership. Many entrepreneurs enter an industry because they're passionate, not realizing that there's a skill set necessary to truly thrive as an entrepreneur. My other advice would be around mindset. I've run into a lot of employees attempting entrepreneurship who don't understand how different the thought process and behavior patterns are for a CEO vs an employee. To my first point, ongoing personal and professional development allows the individual to develop and refine the skills necessary to be an effective entrepreneur.

I'd also advise on the importance of an excellent network. I struggle to think of things more important than understanding how to initiate and sustain great relationships in business. At the end of the day, business is done among people. Effective people skills are timeless and span across industries. Effective communication, outstanding leadership capabilities, and deal making skills can separate an average entrepreneur from a standout entrepreneur.

What I do for fun...

Paint. Travel. Walk labyrinths. Play golf. Collect tea.
