Devin Lars is CEO/President of Doing Everything Different With a Facility in Fremont, CA. D.E.D. produces its own clothing, as well as developing products for others. It counts Chris Brown (Who wore one of D.E.D. designs when he won the award for Best R&B artist at the 2011 BET's Awards.), Justin Bieber, Rick Ross, Trey Songz, 50 Cent and Terrence J, host of BET's popular music video countdown show 106 & Park, among its customers.
The beginnings of D.E.D. occurred in 2005 in an art class at El Cerrito High School where Devin was a senior. Initially focused on custom airbrushing T-Shirts, Autos and Motorcycles, Devin decided that he wanted to produce his own clothing line. Realizing he would need to be able to produce high quality product in high volumes, he began investigating screen printing and took a class at Laney College, where he got the support of a terrific teacher. He has also had the benefit of a wonderful family including a mother with limited financial resources who believed in him and lent him money for his first press and a grandfather who made it possible for him to begin production in his house in 2008.
