Amir Syed
In 2006, Amir created the American Street Mortgage Company with the help of his two childhood friends, Sharbel Shamoon and Daniel Chookaszian. Today, the business has become a leader in the mortgage industry.
The name American Street has a lot of meaning for Amir. Having immigrated to the United States in 1986 at the age of 5, the word America is synonymous with opportunity, success, hope, and freedom. To be American is an honor and something Amir's family is proud of. The word "Street" derived his father's first job in 1986. He earned $3.75 hourly wage at Main Street, which is now Kohl's.
Recently, Amir was appointed as a Board of Director for the Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association and the ACA Sports Club. He is also a proud member of the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association, Streeterville Chamber of Commerce, and the River North Association.
